[Charlie's careful with what she puts on it, silently thanking Stiles for allowing her to do this. It's just some pain relief plus antibiotic gel and a carefully placed bandage to keep that in place. He still has access to all his fingers.]

Mack contacted me yesterday. He was looking for you.

[The Stiles that wasn't Stiles, she means.]

He's very worried about you. I didn't tell him anything, I didn't even know if I should. I figured, that's yours to talk about. Not mine. But...maybe you should tell him?

Thank you. For not telling him. I don't...know about telling him that.

If you decide to, I can be there with you. Entirely your call whether you tell him or not.

[Charlie can accept that. The first aid kit is set aside and Charlie watches Stiles for a moment, head tilted.]

What's your favorite constellation?

[He thinks about it.]

Caelum.

Alright. I know that one.

[She stretches out on her back, one arm under her head. Her other hand is balled into a fist and glowing slightly as if she held several small fireflies.]

It's better viewed lying down.

[But that's his call. Whether he does or not, Charlie's fist unclenches. A few small sparks lift from her hand and form the constellation for a few seconds before fading out entirely.]

[He does lay down, and he watches this. It's pretty amazing, that's for sure.]

How did you learn to do that?

I tried to steal an apple from a pig when I was on my own. Cut my arm pretty badly on barbed wire and got a lovely case of blood poisoning. Irv and Norma took care of me when I got to them days later. They got me a doctor and while I was healing, I got bored. It took a while to get it right.

[She rolls onto her stomach and if Stiles looks, there's a rather jagged four inch scar on the back of her left arm. It was stitched shut at one point, and it's usually something she tries to hide under long sleeve shirts.]

[He winces, and sits up a bit. Shows her a scar on the back of his neck, a simple slice but fairly deep.]

Kanima attack. The venom's a paralytic. Like some kind of nightmare.

[Charlie reaches over, fingers brushing over the scar for a moment.]

What's a kanima?

It's a shapeshifter? A weapon of vengence, of sorts. It can happen when a werewolf bite goes wrong. Instead of being like a normal shifter, it bonds to a master that cna use it to do his or her bidding.

[She makes a face, a bit alarmed and a tiny bit horrified and she's silent for a second or two, grabbing the sodas and holding one out for Stiles.]

Tell me good things about Beacon Hills, otherwise I may change my mind about trying to convince people to send me there instead of back to where I'm from.

[...she didn't even tell him it was something she was considering. Surprise?]

[Stiles looks surprised about that. Really. He takes one of the sodas, and thinks about it.]

It's not...really the place. That's good. The place can be really, really awful. But, the people make it worth sticking there for.

[Was it at least a good surprise?]

What's your school like? The teachers and all?

Kind of like Snape, but not as fun. [Ha ha.]

[Charlie laughs some, shaking her head a bit.]

Snape's alright. He takes teaching very seriously.

He takes everything very seriously.

I kind of like it. Sort of. It can be a bit much on occasion.

I wonder if he's even teaching today.

Oh, we're not going to school for a couple days at least. I asked Frances to call us out or whatever. I figured we could use the break.

Considering how much school I skipped out on back home the past year, I'm surprised I'm even graduating.
