Find the cookie vendor. I'll be there in five. Okay?

Okay. Okay.

[Charlie is good at running. Her feet hit the dirt outside the Doctors yurt and she doesn't stop running until she gets to the market dome.

It's not that crowded so getting to the cookie vendor is easy. She's a bit out of breath, but that doesn't matter. She wants to see Stiles and make sure that's actually him.

Now where is he?]

[He is, it seems, sitting on the ground against a wall and counting and recounting his fingers. Just in case. He'd hate to be wrong about being awake, for God's sake. He's also ignoring anyone who gives him a weird look for doing this.]

[Charlie watches him for a moment before heading over with some caution. She crouches in front of him, tempted to grab his hands and hold them and reassure him that there are ten fingers, but maybe this is something he needs to make sure of.

Balanced on her toes with her hands on her knees, she watches him in silence for a second.]

Still at ten?

[He's trying very hard not to fall into one of his old panic attacks, so it does help. The counting.]

Still ten.

[Count as much as you want, Stiles. Her hands ease into his, not to block what he's doing, but to let him know she's right there.]

Check mine. Just to be sure.

[What she wants to do is just wrap her arms around him and hold hm. She's missed him so much. But she thinks taking things easy for now would probably be the best idea. Even if she really does want to pull him over and hug him.]

I'll count with you, if you want.

[He nods, and counts with her. Carefully, shakily, slowly. Eventually, he stops. His hands still shaking.]

How long?

About a week, I think.

[Charlie settles on the floor across from him, still holding his hands and ignoring the dirty looks she was getting for it. Right now everyone else can go fuck themselves. She's busy making sure her boyfriend is alright.]

Not that I've heard. It's a small town. It would have been news to everyone if anything happened.

[She's not going to mention the conversation she and the Nogitsune had, even if Stiles has most likely heard them. Speaking of, she carefully turns his hands over to check the palms, wondering if they're still burned.]

Do you want to go home, Stiles? We can do that. We can do whatever you want. Okay?

[There is a burn on his hand still, but if it bothers him or if he even notices it he hasn't said anything.]

Home. Yeah. Let's do that.

[Better than out here, right?]

[Charlie cringed a little at the burn, a flash of guilt on her face. She'll take care of it when they get back to the yurt. For now, she stands and helps Stiles to his feet if he needs it.

Once he's on his feet, it's very likely she'll be wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her forehead on his shoulder for a moment. He's back. They both are. Not knowing if he was going to come back was a terrible feeling and Charlie was relieved. She needed a minute.]

[He appreciates it. He kind of needs a minute too, and holds onto her.]

Sorry. I'm sorry.

[She sighs, closing her eyes and willing her tears back for a moment. When she looks at him, her eyes may have that shine to them, but for now her face is tear free. She shakes her head a bit, her hands framing his face for a moment.]

You have nothing to be sorry for. Okay? Not a thing.

[Lifting the burned hand.]

I really don't know if you're right about that.

I am. That wasn't you.

[She takes his hand and looks at the burn, sighing a bit dejectedly and closing her eyes for a moment.]

I really am sorry about that. I forgot how to control my ability and everything was frightening.

Don't be. It's not your fault either.

Let's go home. I'll get that taken care of, and then we can hide in my room from everyone but Frances.

[She kisses him briefly, smiling a bit at him. It's not exactly her biggest smile, but it's all for him. The week has been hell on both of them, she'd imagine.]

Do you think Frances can get us out of school for a couple day?. I don't feel like going.

I'm pretty sure Snape'd have us in school, even if really weird shit were happening. He doesn't seem the type to let it get to him.

[Time to walk, Stiles. Charlie's arm eases around his waist and she starts heading out the merchant dome.]

Seriously. My room. We need to...I don't know, steal all the blankets in the place and build a blanket fort. I haven't done one in years and it sounds so good right now.

I bet Frances has a ton of blankets. And pillows. She seems like she would.

Does that mean you're for it?

[Charlie just smiles and continues walking, still holding onto Stiles.

When they get home, everywhere but Frances' room is ransacked (sort of) for all blankets and pillows and it takes some time getting the fort actually set up. Once it's done, Charlie ducks into the bathroom to change into pajamas (A tank top and long sleeping pants), removing the hairband from her hair and dropping it onto the bureau in her room.

She also stopped long enough to get a few sodas and write Frances a note, asking about time off for the next day or so.]
