Charlie McGee's parents were still part of the Lot Six experiment, the concoction developed from a part of the blue crystal found in the movie 'Chronicle'. This is what gives Charlie her abilities. Here's where things vary greatly from her specific canon. While she did develop her abilities at an early age, this resulted in the loss of her parents in a fire. The government found this interesting, sure, but when Charlie failed to perform and had them fooled that she had nothing, they left her alone. She went to live with her grandparents in New Hampshire at age twelve. At fourteen, the family moved to a large, secluded farm in Seattle and Charlie was homeschooled.
She recently started working at the diner that Andrew and his friends hang out and, after observing Andrew stab his friends hand with a fork only for the fork to bend and his friend to end up unscathed, she questioned Andrew. (more to come as the story develops).
