[ Charlie studies the dagger in silence, already thinking of a few places she can keep it hidden. She listens to Thomas, nodding a bit. She won't argue the protection aspect. An ace up her sleeve, she's learning, is a good thing indeed.]

This is a last resort, you understand. If I can't handle whatever it is I'm fighting, summoning an Oni is the last thing I'll try.

[ Whatever alcohol that had been in her system is mostly faded by now and the ramifications of what just happened has hit. She chews her lower lip nervously, tapping a finger on her knee in thought as she glances at Thomas some. She wants to say...god. She's not sure what. So she just sits in silence, looking for all the world that she wants to say something, but the phrasing is difficult. ]

[He watches her, for a moment, before speaking.]

[ THOMAS GOD DAMN IT! She huffs some, sighing and closing her eyes before turning to really look at him. And while it's still hard for her to say, considering who it is, somehow looking at Stiles' face helps. Maybe that's why she's avoided looking at him directly for so long.]

Thank you for looking out for me. [ And a pause. ] and I wanted...to apologize for getting upset about Roman. It was just hard to watch.

Because I wanted to be there with Stiles, so watching you with someone else, even in a non-romantic fashion actually hurt. A lot.

[ She misses him, Thomas. That's to be expected. Charlie's a loyal girl. She did promise Stiles she'd stick by him through everything and she's going to keep that promise. ]

I suppose I'm sorry you're upset. [Is he? Maybe.] I do have people here. That won't change.

So does Stiles. That won't change, either.

[ Charlie's always going to be one of those people. ] Do me a favor? If you really mean that you're sorry, say it again. Don't...don't say it because you think it's what I want to hear. That's dishonest and unfair.

I promise. [ She nods once, even managing to smile at Thomas before turning her attention to the candy. Holding the bag up, she examines it a bit before looking at him again. ]

I thought this was the rock candy I gave you for a minute. It's not. It's the...oh, how do you say it?
